Mmm, sort of. He was working for Sonic’s arch enemy but when you finish both stories, you can play a final one where both sides work together to save the world.

During that part he has this whole redemption arc where he sacrifices himself, but in a later game you find out he survived it and now he protects everyone and helps out Sonic sometimes. While still being all stoic and cool.

It’s a really good story arc. But bad voice acting.
