[You remember dying. Maybe the memory is clear and bright and your body still aches from the cause. Maybe it was fast enough that you didn't feel it and don't remember what you went through. But no matter how you went out, that's no excuse for truancy! Which is to say: you are still in the school.

For those executed, you will wake up in your beds. The dormitories look exactly as they did when you first arrived, without any of the changes or personal effects you and your dormmates might have made. The only real difference is that the little cot in Ambassador isn't there.

For those who were victims, you will wake where your body was discovered. All of your injuries are gone, and you feel fine. It's almost like you're still alive - but you remember what happened to you. It couldn't have just been a dream, could it?

The school looks much as you remember it, save perhaps for a few key differences. For one, there's no groundhog murals anywhere. Where things were green on the other side, like banners or paint, you'll find that here they're blood red.

The doors, for the moment, are still locked. Looks like even death couldn't free you.]

It's mostly theories of how the universe was created and how it functions, scientifically and mathematically. [he chuckles a little] Far more in-depth into either of those subjects than I've ever delved but...fortunately, the author seems to be more focused on explaining the theory in terms more easily understood by someone who has no concept of such things than the actual mathematics itself.

I'll admit that the natural sciences aren't my forte, but if it is more accessible, I think I ought to read it for a better understanding of...well, everything.

It's...more accessible, but I'll admit that even so, I'm having a bit of a time with it. But you're more than welcome to it once I'm done, if you'd like.

I'm feeling quite well, thank you. I've had ample time to recover, fortunately, and Discord has taken surprisingly good care of me.

And yourself? I hope you didn't experience any severe negative effects yourself.

No, I didn't have any problems, but I am thinking it's because I came in so late in the music.

[Salieri nods, in agreement] That might very much have something to do with it.

Might I ask...what was your experience of it like, exactly?

I'll admit I didn't feel much of anything, other than worry for SQUIP.

[She looks down at this.]

Perhaps if I'd been more involved I might understand what you all saw or felt, or...have mitigated some of what happened to all of you.

[that's a bit of a relief, honestly, to hear that she hadn't been affected that time--and Salieri shakes his head]

We knew that there was a risk when we started this. I can honestly say I'm glad you didn't experience anything harmful this time around. I'm...a bit concerned for the performance, to be honest, but...I think with more people, the strain will be easier to shoulder.

[at least for the others, hopefully. He's not sure how it will affect him, to have more of those strings, those connections, to conduct. But...he's doing his best to mitigate the effects of that ahead of time as best he can]

That's what I'm hoping, as well. The more of us involved, the more we can spread the strain, the less of a strain it will be. And with luck it will be all of us who shoulder the performance.
