[You remember dying. Maybe the memory is clear and bright and your body still aches from the cause. Maybe it was fast enough that you didn't feel it and don't remember what you went through. But no matter how you went out you're still trapped here.

When you open your eyes it might take you a minute to recognize your surroundings. It's your dressing room, that much is certain, but nothing is where you remember it. It's like everything has been picked up and moved to the other side of the room. The entire room has been perfectly mirrored from what it used to be and, upon leaving, it seems the rest of the opera house is just the same. If you remember one room being in the east wing, it's now in the west. If it was in the west, it's now in the east.

It's a perfectly mirrored version of the Opera House and each week, as new people die after new floors have been revealed, the stairwell doors will unlock and allow you to reach them. Oh, ew, this got all greasy and it's still half-cooked! No one's going to want this one! [She whines and goes to chuck it out.] Why is cooking so hard?

No, but it's fun. Besides, it feels weird not to. Same with sleeping, even though we don't have any of our stuff.

Are you kidding? I've always wished I didn't have to waste time sleeping.

What else would you do if you couldn't?

Well, here, I don't know. But back home, I was so busy, I never got enough sleep... I guess it'll be nice not to be tired all the time.

Cram school? I never had to do that in Pikarigaoka, but it sounded terrifying.

I think it's a little different in the US, but yeah, lots of advanced classes. It looks good on college applications.

Everybody always wants to get into a good school, even if all that work makes them tired and miserable. I guess I already had ruling the Blue Sky Kingdom lined up, so I never really thought about it.

[robitussin]

Some of us don't really have a choice. If I didn't get a full ride I wasn't going.

It must've really made you happy.

...I guess. The idea of getting away did. I guess that doesn't matter much now.

What kind of place would you want to go to, if you came back to life and could go anywhere in any world at all?
