[You remember dying. Maybe the memory is clear and bright and your body still aches from the cause. Maybe it was fast enough that you didn't feel it and don't remember what you went through. But no matter how you went out you're still trapped here.

When you open your eyes it might take you a minute to recognize your surroundings. It's your dressing room, that much is certain, but nothing is where you remember it. It's like everything has been picked up and moved to the other side of the room. The entire room has been perfectly mirrored from what it used to be and, upon leaving, it seems the rest of the opera house is just the same. If you remember one room being in the east wing, it's now in the west. If it was in the west, it's now in the east.

Welcome back to the Opera House, friends, you're not out of the woods yet.]

It's a perfectly mirrored version of the Opera House and each week, as new people die after new floors have been revealed, the stairwell doors will unlock and allow you to reach them. It's horrifying, but I've learned to make peace with it here. I simply hoped to offer...some kind of reassurances. That the world doesn't always work the way you think it will.

Well, Judas-san told us his game was five cases, and their...finale. If the Showrunner wants to put on a similar show, that means we're in the unfortunate homestretch.

...What did he tell you about the finale, exactly?

They were arguing over...something, for hours. He was killed, as a price for the rest of them. The Showrunner did it herself. He knows nothing more after that, only that some of the survivors must have joined her, so...maybe they were arguing over what to do with this place? To perpetuate it or...ah, something else that would've been more desirable.

Is that why he's stuck here... Why we're stuck here?

He doesn't know...but I would wager what at least half of them decided has something to do with it.

Why would that have had consequences for us, though, if we're in an entirely different round?

Because they're still in ours. It's the only common factor linking Judas-san and us that doesn't extend to the rest of his cast. For all we know, they were never in limbo. What changed between his death and theirs? If we follow the hypothesis that they were arguing about putting on another show or something regarding it, there's the answer. Elevating the "actors" to "crew."

[She nods.] Imyself and Valjean-san have been here the longest, except for Judas-san obviously.

Oh... It was...something. Judas-san didn't show up until two weeks ago, so I... Valjean-san is a kind man. Kinder than I deserve.

...Wait, really? I thought he was from the last round.

Oh, he was. He was just consistently on a higher floor? I'm not entirely sure how it works, but we can only go to floors someone remembers...so apparently we were still separated enough that his memories didn't mix with ours.

Floors that someone... remembers?

[She nods.] Valjean-san and I, we were only on the first floor during our time alive, remember? When the next set arrived [deliberately avoiding mentioning gabe's name because that must be awkward] suddenly the doors were unlocked. So on, and so forth.

So... This place is tied to our memories somehow?

Somehow. Except there's more to it, obviously. The reverse, the- none of our personal artifacts are here. [she isn't sure if natalie took note of that, waking up here can be.....disorienting] Not unless we were, well, wearing them. [She draws attention to the red ribbon in her hair.]
