[You remember dying. Maybe the memory is clear and bright and your body still aches from the cause. Maybe it was fast enough that you didn't feel it and don't remember what you went through. But no matter how you went out you're still trapped here.

When you open your eyes it might take you a minute to recognize your surroundings. For the executed, it's your dressing room. For the victims, you startle awake in the place your body was discovered. But no matter where you are nothing is where you remember it. It's like everything has been picked up and moved to the other side of the room. The entire room has been perfectly mirrored from what it used to be and, upon leaving, it seems the rest of the opera house is just the same. If you remember one room being in the east wing, it's now in the west. If it was in the west, it's now in the east.


Welcome back to the Opera House, friends. Even in death you're still in the woods.]

[ooc: Welcome to deadland, darlings! It's a perfectly mirrored version of the Opera House and each week, as new people die after new floors have been revealed, the stairwell doors will unlock and allow you to reach them. [Speak of the devil, after a solid few seconds of being still as a corpse, one arm lifts up and Beetlejuice grabs the back of his hair and yanks his head up out of the BJ-shaped indent in the floor to look at them both.]

Evan! My guy, my dude, my boy! And Sigyn! And Red and Richard and....guy who got stabbed for being a jackass, I literally cannot remember your name, dude. All my new best buds, all in one place!

[He drags himself to his feet, his limbs noodley and slinky-like until he shakes them out and stands at his full height.]

You did it! [BJ reaches out, still slightly smoking, to pull Evan into an affectionate one-armed hug around his shoulders. How does he do that when Evan is standing behind Richard? His arm is now about 3 feet longer than it just was! That's fine.] Look at this guy, what a mensch.

[He looks to Sigyn.]

Comes with everything you need to know about being dead, which is good! It also gives you instructions on how to get to the Netherworld which, for you guys, is bad!

[His voice changes slightly, pitching up with an exaggerated English accent.] Let's not go to the Netherworld, it's a rather silly place.

[Richard leans over to Sigyn.]

...Are we supposed to know him?

[Sigyn shrugs]

This is the first I'm hearing of him.

[Still doing the Evil King Whisper That Everybody Can Hear]

I mean, obviously I'm used to people knowing who I am, but they usually call me King Richard, or Your Majesty...

[Beetlejuice is very suddenly resting his head on Richard's shoulder.]

Little Richie? Rich? King Dick?

[Richard jumps half out of his skin with an undignified yelp, scurrying away from the strange man.]

Just checking! [He backs away and gives a dramatic, overly elaborate bow before presenting Richard with a business card.] Name's Beetlejuice, Ghost with the Most, part-time bio-exorcist and full-time Ghost-Zombie Jesus!

[Richard takes the business card and reads it with a furrowed brow.

...If he's subtly trying to put himself in between Beetlejuice and Red, you have no proof.]

So you're a ghost, too. Not a demon at all?

Little of column a, little of column b. Mom was a demon, dad was, uhhhhh, I think a ghost. It was super unclear in my backstory. But! Like I was telling your breather friends, I've been doing a lot of soul searching- hehe, cause get it? I'm dead- and I wanna help you guys kick that mask dude's ass!
