[You remember dying. Maybe the memory is clear and bright and your body still aches from the cause. Maybe it was fast enough that you didn't feel it and don't remember what you went through. But no matter how you went out you're still trapped here.

When you open your eyes it might take you a minute to recognize your surroundings. For the executed, it's your dressing room. For the victims, you startle awake in the place your body was discovered. But no matter where you are nothing is where you remember it. It's like everything has been picked up and moved to the other side of the room. The entire room has been perfectly mirrored from what it used to be and, upon leaving, it seems the rest of the opera house is just the same. If you remember one room being in the east wing, it's now in the west. If it was in the west, it's now in the east.


Welcome back to the Opera House, friends. Even in death you're still in the woods.]

[ooc: Welcome to deadland, darlings! It's a perfectly mirrored version of the Opera House and each week, as new people die after new floors have been revealed, the stairwell doors will unlock and allow you to reach them. 70 to start. I don't bench often, but...that sounds about right.

[Sigyn grabs the required plates, sliding them on as Riley finishes her hair]

We can always move up from there.

Mmhm...!

[ Easy breath control. It's about endurance but also speed. Riley starts repeating tenants of training in her mind before beginning the workout. And, well, her punches and all that were all rudimentary, but this she looks pretty in control about. ]

[Sigyn stands at the top of the bench, ready to grab the bar if Riley looks like she needs the help.]

You look good with your hair down.

What? [ Surprised blink as she lifts the bar back up. ] Thank you. I, uh... I haven't worn it like this since...well, since fifth grade.

It takes a bit to get use to having it down after keeping it up for so long.

[Should she take her braids out? Maybe eventually, when there was someone who could put them back in when she inevitably got tired of it.]

I just...always had it like that. [ ...... ] F-for cheer.

You were in cheer that long?

[isawallflower]

First it was gymnastics. [ Pushes the bar up, steadily and easily. Lets it come back down. ] Then, I...watched my...a friend perform...in sixth grade. [ Another rep. ] And...I knew it was what I wanted to do.

And you enjoyed it?

[As Riley completes more reps Sigyn lowers her arms, just in case she needs to grab the bar quickly]

[ A short, tense nod, probably from the position she's in for the bench press. ]

It was the first time...I felt I could really...really succeed at something. Really standout, or...make a difference.
