He’s conferred with the SQUIP on the purpose of this meeting, and so clears his throat. It’s a much smaller crowd, but perhaps, with the right amount of push, they can still make a difference.]

Good afternoon. Thank you all for coming. I have discussed today’s topics with the SQUIP, and have organized them by topic, so that we may be sure to address all areas.

I prefer to think of it as hacking.

Assuming my theory on how certain factors can affect reality is at least partially correct - which at this point, requires field-testing - then a marginal impact is still an impact. Especially if one can keep the inertia going.

However, my programming was not designed for this sort of manipulation. While I am optimistic that this can be overcome, especially if the initial test has positive results, the fact remains I will need...assistance from those more experienced in such, to apply the formulae and create an actual program capable of making any changes.

So...if I understand correctly, and forgive me if I do not, seeing as I do not fully understand all the terms, however: you need people experienced in the manipulation itself before any actual change can be made?

I can understand the data that makes up a script. A music score. A story. However, I do not understand enough to create one on my own. While I am confident I can provide the basic structure, I cannot make it...

...so that is to say, you have all the motifs and the musical ideas, and you can logically put them together, but you don't quite understand what emotion they affect in others.

[It's Salieri's experience in the careful control of his emotions that keep him from either commenting or even snickering, but he doesn't give Discord any sort reproach for that either, verbal or otherwise]

Suffice it to say I believe it was one of the reasons the SQUIP project was discontinued.

So are you all about... [he gestures vaguely at the SQUIP] ...like this?

[It looks at Discord for a few moments, then looks away, frowning slightly as its brow creases]

We have the same base programming. But I have considered the possibility that I would have chosen different actions, had I implanted within a different human.

Oh, passing off responsibility for all this [gesturing again, more flippantly] to someone else, then? Of course you are.

I'm just going to be assuming nothing of value was lost.

Then in that case, allow me to be that missing element. I may not understand the parts precisely as you describe them, but I certainly know how music can follow the story and even direct and change it, and grow it to new heights and evoke certain emotions.
