[Hello and welcome to the cafeteria. Salieri has set up one of the tables with some sandwiches and water, as well as papers and pencils. Once everyone is settled, Salieri stands. He’s conferred with the SQUIP on the purpose of this meeting, and so clears his throat. It’s a much smaller crowd, but perhaps, with the right amount of push, they can still make a difference.]

Good afternoon. Thank you all for coming. I have discussed today’s topics with the SQUIP, and have organized them by topic, so that we may be sure to address all areas.

Interesting.

So if we can figure out who is writing that script, we find out who is controlling the Wizard?

Or at least understand a great more of his motivations. So far, I can only see some sort of ire towards the Balladeer and the Leading Player.

Based on what data I have, I can only assume that it is related to one of their original performances. Something to do with family, as well, from what Nana mentioned.

Perhaps this is an odd question, however...can you think of someone from either of your performances who would have a particular ire towards you both?

I'm on pretty good terms with most of the people from the last one. The ones I'm not...well, I don't think they're actively angry at me right now. Also pretty sure they weren't wizards.

[The Balladeer frowns, looking at the Leading Player.]

I wasn't involved in the one before that. Don't know much about it - but I know it didn't end so well.

[LP picks up one of the bottles of water and, when she takes a sip, it's suddenly red wine.]

Oh, plenty. I know most of your little friends wouldn't spit on me if I was on fire. Judas might still be a little miffed about it all but he's probably cooled his heels by now in that castle. The Witch...but she wouldn't hide behind a Wizard motif.

And then there's Draco. [She takes another much longer drink.] He's technically a wizard but I think he's on Mars or something now, I lost the thread of those Starkids ages ago.

Can you think of one that would hate you enough to go through all this effort?

A lot of people hate me. [She shrugs.] But I can't see any of them having the power to be able to put in this much effort. See, I try to make a habit of keeping on the good side of other Narrators.

[Present company somewhat excluded but It's Complicated.]

And you have not failed with a single one?

The Cat in the Hat and I had a spat a while back but he's a pussy cat if you slide him a can of salmon.

I hadn't noticed.

...is it possible to gain such power? What if one were to create a show to gain that power themselves?

...I've never heard of it happening but, with things the way they are now, it's not impossible.

It would have to be someone who knows how to write a script well in the first place. And writing a libretto with the proper poetry is no easy task.

Even so, it might be an idea to list out everyone from the performances that you've put on, to narrow down the possibilities.

[She paces a little as she thinks.]

But then what do we do if go through the list and still find nothing that might connect to our current situation?

Then at least we've eliminated some possibilities.

Then we have at least removed possibilities.

[Fun fact; this is probably the first time in the entire meeting that the SQUIP's softened its voice and/or made a token attempt to be reassuring]

First, jinx on those two. [She gestures to Salieri and the SQUIP.] Second...I suppose I can do that. The first one has an awful short list so it won't be hard. The second one is where things get messy.

[Seemingly out of thin air she produces a Death Note notebook and a pen with a red feather on the end.]

Do you want it alphabetized or just by "most likely to ruin dozens of lives to get back at me"?

I believe the latter might be more of use.

Way ahead of you, maestro. [She already has a list a half a page long. Some of the names seem a little out of left field though- "Man In Chair", "The Cat in the Hat (but we're probably cool)", "Aaron Burr".]

Oh, I do love a good list of enemies.
